Trustworthy and true

There are a lot of voices telling us what is true. What to believe. What to expect. What matters most. Scripture brings us back to something unchanging: God’s Word is trustworthy and true.

“The angel said to me, ‘These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.’” Revelation 22:6 (NIV)

This is not human opinion or speculation. This is a revelation given by God Himself. The same God who spoke through the prophets, who has proven Himself faithful through every generation, is the One declaring what is to come.

“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” Revelation 22:7 (NIV)

There is a blessing here, but it’s not simply for reading or hearing—it’s for keeping. To keep these words means to hold them close and to cherish them. This isn’t just about knowing what will happen one day; it is about allowing that truth to shape how we live today.

Jesus is coming.

That promise has stood for over two thousand years. It’s not delayed, not forgotten, not uncertain. At the appointed time, the Son will come for His bride exactly as the Father has determined. Until that moment, we are called to live with expectation, not distraction.

“But he said to me, ‘Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!’” Revelation 22:9 (NIV)

The command is simple and clear: worship God.

Not the messenger, not the moment, not the experience. It’s easy to become distracted, drawn toward voices, personalities, or even spiritual moments. Scripture brings us back again and again to what matters most. Fix your attention on Him.

“Then he told me, ‘Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near.’” Revelation 22:10 (NIV)

This message is meant to be open, known, and responded to now. The time is near.

The Word of God is alive, active, and relevant to this very moment. It calls us to stay awake and to live with a steady awareness that Jesus is coming.

So hold fast to what is true.
Keep His Word.
Worship Him alone.
And live ready.
