Right now

Today, right where you are, God is at work. Not just someday in the future. Not only in the past when you can look back and see how He carried you through. Right now—in this moment, in this place—He is who He says He is.

“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?” 2 Samuel 22:31–32 (NIV)

God’s promises aren’t just memories to recall or hopes to anticipate. They are present tense. His way is perfect. His Word is proven. He is my shield—even when I feel weak or vulnerable.

God is my strength and power right now, in this very moment.

He makes my way perfect, even when it doesn’t feel perfect. If His way is my way, then the path I’m on is the right one, even if I can’t see where it leads.

This changes how I look at today. Instead of waiting for “someday” when things line up, or only finding comfort in what God has done in the past, I can rest in His presence and His promises right now.

Pray with me:

Thank You, Lord. I may not understand how this moment fits, but I trust that Your way is perfect, and Your Word is sure. Today, I choose to grab hold of the shield You extend and to walk in the strength You give.

Because You are—right now—all that I need.
